Lucknow: The superhit musical comedy My Sweet Heart entertained audiences on the second evening of the three-day Babu Hardayal Vastav Comedy Theatre Festival, organised by Manchkriti on Saturday at the auditorium of the International Buddhist Research Institute in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.
Presented by Bharatiyam and Shivanjana Entertainments, the play was directed by Puneet Asthana and Rajiv Ranjan. Combining an engaging storyline with effective stagecraft and musical elements, the production kept the audience entertained with a series of comic twists and misunderstandings.

The story revolves around Deenanath, a flirtatious man who falls in love with Priya, a woman who has left her husband. The situation becomes increasingly complicated when Deenanath’s wife and children arrive to live with him and his beloved. Matters take a hilarious turn when Deenanath develops feelings for his son’s female friend, while his son Prakash falls for Priya. The arrival of Deenanath’s daughter and the revelation that her lover is Priya’s husband add further confusion.
The mystery is eventually unravelled when the young woman reveals that the entire episode was orchestrated to reunite Priya with her husband and bring Deenanath back to his family.

Rajiv Ranjan Singh played Deenanath, while Pooja Singh Priyadarshini portrayed Priya. Prabhati Pandey played Pinky, Som Ganguly appeared as Prakash, Parul Kant as Shobha, Zara Hayat as Zohra, Lakhan Keswani as Sakharam, and Aruna Pandey as the visitor. Their performances received appreciation from the audience.
Gopal Sinha and Manish Saini handled the stage concept and coordination, while Ashutosh was responsible for set design. Shaheer managed makeup, Ramendra Lal oversaw music, and Pooja Singh designed the costumes. Veteran theatre artist Gopal Sinha compered the programme.
